WhatsApp for iOS has recently released a new feature that allows users to create events directly in group chats. This update comes after the feature was initially spotted in a beta version of the app for Android by a feature tracker. The Event option in group chats was discovered in WhatsApp for iOS app version 24.13.72, adding a new dimension to group interactions on the platform.

With the new update, users can now easily create events in group chats by tapping the “+” icon in the activity menu. From there, users can input the event name, add a description, set the start time, and even include the event location if necessary. Additionally, there is an option to start a WhatsApp call link at the beginning of the event for seamless communication.

Gadgets 360 staff members have confirmed that the new Event feature is available to all WhatsApp for iOS users. However, as with most updates, the rollout is gradual, so it may take some time for the feature to be available to all devices. Updating the WhatsApp app to the latest version should enable users to access this new functionality in their group chats.

In addition to the Event feature, WhatsApp recently introduced Meta AI chatbot to regions like India. There are reports that users may soon have the option to choose between two AI models: Llama 3-70B and Llama 3-405B. The former is a smaller model designed for quick responses, while the latter is Meta’s largest model with 400 billion parameters. However, the Llama 3-405B AI model is currently not available to the public.

The new Event feature in group chats on WhatsApp for iOS enhances the user experience by allowing for easier event coordination and communication within groups. As the platform continues to introduce new features and updates, users can look forward to more innovative ways to connect with their contacts and communities on WhatsApp.
